Sydney Sweeney Debuts Her Shortest and Lightest Hair in Years

You may have to do a double take, but yes, that is Sydney Sweeney. Stepping out on the red carpet for the Christy premiere as part of 2025 AFI FEST, the Euphoria actress debuted one of her most exciting hair colors yet.

"I'm calling Sydney’s new color ‘Bleached Suede Blonde,’" Schwartz says. "It’s the next evolution of the iconic ‘Dark Suede Blonde’ we created earlier this year. It’s brighter, a true pale bleached blonde, yet still full of that soft dimension that keeps it feeling rich and natural rather than flat."

The colorist usedSchwarzkopf Professional IGORA Royal, then added highlights using IGORA Vario Blond Super Plus Lightener, followed by IGORA Vibrance to softly blend the roots and base. He then used Vario Blond Super Plus to "balayage and pop the ends for extra brightness." Glen Coco Oropeza then styled her hair in a chin-length bob.

As Schwartz explained, the new look was all about embracing Sweeney's "new chapter. "We wanted it to feel modern, fun, and confident," he says, "a fresh take that still feels very her. Nothing says new energy quite like a bright blonde and a sharp, effortless bob.”

Sweeney wore a plunging halter neck pale pink gown with delicate floral embroidery and lace trim, along with a few pieces of silver jewelry to complete the look.

This isn’t the first time that Sweeney has switched up her hair on the red carpet. At last year's Met Gala, for instance, the actress shocked fans with a jet black bob wig with bangs. A few months earlier, she debuted a chic Italian bob on the red carpet.

Sweeney has also switched things up for her various roles. In Americana, she rocks tight blonde curls. In Christy, it's a brunette shag. Then there's the survival thriller Eden, that sees her wearing a brunette updo. Still, it's safe to say that her latest transformation is one of her boldest looks to date.
